LOGLINE
Two aspiring filmmakers struggling to get discovered in Hollywood reluctantly find themselves lured into the eccentric and provocative world of the adult film industry.
OVERVIEW
Silicone Valley is a 30-minute comedy that follows Jam and Kai; two, young, aspiring filmmakers on their journey through the adult film industry.
After suffering a myriad of rejections in Hollywood, and facing impending financial troubles, the two reluctantly accept an invitation to shoot an adult film for a popular amateur couple, Sarah and Riggins.
The video becomes an online sensation, and Jam and Kai get hired on to work on big budget porn productions by the flamboyant and exuberant adult film producer, Vincent.
After clashing with Vincent over financial disagreements, Kai and Jam decide to go out on their own and start their own adult film production company.
The series follows Jam and Kai as they juggle their newfound success with their personal relationships, starting a new business, morality, and their dream to become Hollywood directors, all while Vincent tries to ruin them at every turn.
SETTING
Silicone Valley is set in Hollywood, CA, but eventually, Kai and Jam move up to the Santa Clara Valley in northern California (AKA Silicone Valley).
This area was comically coined Silicone Valley as a play on Silicon Valley, the American tech capital, to reference silicone breast implants rather than silicon computer chips.
The show takes place in both Hollywood and Silicone Valley as Kai and Jam travel between the two for business.
CHARACTERS
JAMIE “JAM”
A high energy visionary who is both inventive and excitable. Jam is the more creative one of the team, coming up with some of their most ingenious ideas.
He suffers from highs and lows, sometimes jumping between being upset and happy in a single sentence.
KAI
Poised and charismatic, Kai is a charming and pragmatic diplomat. He often de-escalates situations that would otherwise spiral out of control.
He serves as a sounding board for Jamie’s wild ideas and is the more technically skilled filmmaker. He does most of the editing, and is usually the one behind the lens. He’s extremely social, as well as persuasive.
VINCENT
An eccentric adult film producer who is both personable and ambitious. Vincent is a one-man show that dominates any conversation. He can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
RIGGINS
A fun-loving, oblivious character that’s always in a good mood. Riggins isn’t too bright, but he makes up for it with his contagious personality. Riggins is carefree and charsimatic.
RAVI PATEL
A super young, Indian, entertainment lawyer in Hollywood. He’s a brilliant and hilarious character with an extremely dynamic personality.
He’s a party fanatic that seems like he never sleeps, and he works primarily out of a limo because he’s constantly partying.
